The concept for Med-Track™ was first developed in 2003 by a healthcare consulting company that worked extensively with hospitals to develop innovative physician liaison programs. Together, the consultants and their client hospitals were able to develop effective liaison programs, but they could not accurately measure the outcomes and success of their efforts. The hospitals had no systems to monitor the liaisons’ production or to measure the impact their efforts were having on patient volumes. Some hospitals attempted to track results in standard spreadsheet applications, others used email calendars to schedule physician visits, and most tried to extract patient volume data from their patient accounting systems. While some of these efforts were individually effective, the systems were not integrated. Hospitals had to store and report on data in separate locations.
The consulting firm helped the hospitals search for a software product that could not only manage appointment information and contact information specific to physicians, but that could produce reports to document the efforts of staff and track the outcomes related to those efforts, including referrals and admissions. After an extensive search, they realized no such product was on the market, so they made the decision to create one that could. It was then that TreadPath Software entered the picture. TreadPath brought over 10 years of experience in the software business that could convert the vision into a reality. Using the latest technology and programming tools, they developed Med-Track™ into a robust web application. After almost 2 years of planning, programming, and testing, Med-Track™ was officially released on March 9, 2005. Since then, organizations nationwide have implemented Med-Track™. Our clients include major healthcare systems, independent community hospitals, service lines, and other organizations that market their services or facilities to physicians. |
